TimThis is a great little saw. It’s compact, easy to setup and takedown, has great features, and a powerful motor. It is important to note that this is a JOBSITE saw. The reviews complaining about thousandths of an inch are true but, in some respects, unjustified. If you need that degree of precision, get a shop saw. This saw is made to be rugged and robust. It is accurate as well but when you’re on a jobsite and you don’t have the luxury of feed tables (like most shop saws do) then any saw can suffer.Yes
Harry AbramsonOther reviewers have complained about the awful miter gauge that comes with this saw, but this didn't bother me too much. When I encounter a project where it is needed, I'll shop for a suitable Incra. I learned this lesson years ago with my other expensive hobby—astronomy. You can spend thousands on a high-end telescope and it will still come with a toy finder scope (the little telescope attached to the main optical tube). Why? Because there are countless after-market models available, each with their own special features. Same for miter gauges. There is no way a mid-priced table saw can include a gauge with all the features offered by the various Incra or Kreg models, so they don't even try. Besides, the included gauge can be made marginally functional by applying a couple of layers of plastic (exterior grade) painter's tape to the rail. This eliminates most of the slop but still allows it to slide smoothly in the slot. (There is a YouTube video showing how to do this, but it is pretty self-explanatory.)Yes
FireballsocalI chose this Dewalt over the Bosch for its larger rip capacity, its semi-pneumatic wheels, and it's stability. I am pretty happy with my purchase and don't regret not having the Bosch 4100, though it was a great saw for what I used it for. The Bosch 4100 is an older design and Dewalt has the benefit with this saw of having a number of years to refine it's design of the already excellent 744XRS. I feel this Dewalt is a better design for the money currently, at least until one of the other manufacturers re-design their job site saw.Yes

Nicky PReceiving the Saw - I ordered the Saw on Amazon on a Friday. On Tuesday the delivery company contacted me by phone (as stated by Amazon) to set up a date and time. You could chose a morning time from 8-12 or an afternoon time from 12-4. I chose Wednesday (the following day) and picked the 12-4. The saw arrived at my house at 1:15. Two nice men used a pallet jack and rolled 4 boxes on one pallet right into the middle of my shop. The boxes looked to be in good shape. My rating here is A+.Yes
LazerUnlike the two-star reviewer, I downloaded the operator's manual and went through it before I purchased my Sawstop CS. Using this saw isn't like upgrading from a recip engine in your airplane to a turbojet, but you really need to read the manual, at least the safety system portion, and that's one or two pages of easily understood writing and diagrams.Yes
ThadTook 9 hours over a weekend to set it up. Every part so finely machined, the assembly experience was a pleasure like no other. First order of business was to expand the capability of a 15 year old cross cut sled, making it bigger, adding clamping and removable center insert features and re-calibrating it. The SawStop made quick, precise work of it. At the time my new dado stack was on order, so the rabbets for the the center insert plate were cut to near perfection by nibbling away with the OEM rip blade. That's some quality teeth.Yes

Bosch 10-Inch Worksite Table Saw

The Bosch table saw is another best portable table saw. It is powerful with 15-amp rated power and maximum 4Hp. This power is enough for ripping and cross-cutting large pieces of wood. The start circuit allows soft motor startup that minimizes tripping a circuit breaker. The aluminum workbench provides an ample space for large carpentry materials.

  • Powerful 10 in. Worksite table saw: features 15-Amp saw that delivers 4. 0 max Hp and 3, 650 RPM, for the Best Portable Table Sawpower required for ripping, rip-cutting and cross-cutting fine and rough-carpentry materials
  • Large Cast aluminum top: provides increased workspace and material support with a 25 in. Ripping capacity to cover all typical jobsite rip-cutting widths
  • PORTABILITY: Works seamlessly with the included lighter GTA47W Gravity-Rise Wheeled Stand for easy jobsite mobility, with single-action setup and take down
  • Smart Guard system: riving knife and Anti-Kickback pawls provide protection, while the guard assembly provides a barrier to help prevent blade contact while allowing an Unobstructed view of the cut
  • Soft-start circuitry: manages the intensity of motor start-up and minimizes the possibility of tripping a circuit breaker

Mike-BuhIt is not a cabinet saw, so judging it by those standards would be unfair. As a portable job site saw this is amazing. Loud and dusty, sure, but that is expected. Easy to use and store, yes. The fence is square to the blade, and is rock solid, as long as you make sure the nut at the back of the fence is set right. The fence is not quite square to the table top, and I can't tweak it, but for construction I wouldn't care. I do other fussier things on the saw, so I will shim out Yes
blindrobertI build guitars in a small shop; I need my saw to be accurate, repairable and easy to store or move. I love this saw! I use it for everything from cutting down stock to slotting my fretboards. It gets out of the way, it came dead on square, and the dust collection works pretty well with a shop vac and great with a high volume dust collector, with an Incra miter fence it makes perfect, repeatable, and accurate cuts. After I had owned it for over a year the plastic lever on the riving knife broke - I called Bosch and they "goodwilled" me a new riving knife assembly (with an upgraded metal lever) via express mail. No charge and fast, friendly service - they didn't even ask for a serial number or proof of purchase. I'd buy this saw again in a minute - all tools wear out or break at some point and I really like that the company stood behind this one and got me up and running again in a hurry. I also love all the safety features - riving knife, anti-kickback pawls, large easy-to-reach power button, nice push stick, and a dust collection port that is positioned out of the user's way.Yes
David N. HollasI love this saw. So much more accurate than the Craftsman I recently junked. Very easy to roll once assembled. Assembly took 30 minutes for this experienced craftsman, so if you're not as deft, plan for more time. My fence stays square now matter how much I slide it around, and the blade raises and lowers easily, and angle adjusts perfectly. Very happy with this tool and will give it many years of use. It's pricey but I'm glad to have a reliable, accurate saw for the price.Yes

Alaska GuyThe last time I got this excited for this little money I had to wait for the statute of limitations to expire before I could talk about it (Joke). The saw has plenty of power, the expanding table works well, sawdust is as well managed as one can get with a small table saw. I bought this because it would shop to me in Alaska and was inexpensive, but man am I impressed! Over 25 years in construction too, and I'm fickle. Looks exactly like the dewalt, probably made in the same place. First thing I did was effortlessly rip a laminated beam made of 2x4s/ Effortlessly-with the stock blade. Just wow.Yes
cliffykReceived this today to replace a 10+ year-old Delta 10" saw of comparable price range (i.e. when I bought it I was not bottom-feeding, but I was not too far from the bottom). The Delta served me well these years in both light commercial and happy-homeowner use--it did not however survive last Saturday's 6 ft. fall from the scaffolding. Not its first fall however the cast aluminum table and plastic main body did not do well.Yes
MeliCapI’m a beginner woodworker/DIY home improvement person and this is the perfect balance between quality/price/functionality. Comes ready to go out of the box, didn’t need to adjust mine at all. It’s easy to use, has all the safety features and makes great cuts. Some of the frustrating things are adjusting the fence (takes patience and checking for square) and using the miter gauge (difficult to get at the correct angle and the track has play so you have to compensate). If you’re just getting started like me, or need something reliable to use occasionally, I would highly recommend.Yes

Philip GodfreyFirst off, it's not a cabinet saw. It's a portable contractor saw. There is a tremendous difference between a precision ground cast iron table and a cast aluminum one along with the fact that cabinet saws have larger induction motors, etc… But cabinet saws are not meant to be portable. That being said, the Makita 2705(x1 (if you got the stand)), is a nice, portable, compact saw that should provide you with enough power for on-site work or general woodworking for the hobbyist on a smaller budget.Yes
MarvI knew I'd be building a table saw cart and setting my router into the extension table, so I'm really pleased with the large cast aluminum table (though it scratches fairly easily if you're not careful) and overall size. I wanted a smallish but powerful saw that provided oportunity for mobility and serving multiple functions and the Makita fits the bill.Yes
Jag-Nut-EAfter shopping around a bit, I settled on this Makita 2705, and glad I did. I had an old 2703 model that was simply worn out from 2 decades of service (home hobbyist/DIY guy). I could not get the 2703 to move completely over to 45 degrees angle, and yes, I checked it thoroughly for obstructions. But it's table was small and the bothersome Miter gauge (channel) was only an 8th of an inch thick!Yes

JeffI bought my DeWalt 744 with the pop-up stand because I have a crowded garage/shop and wanted to build some utility cabinets, lay hickory wood floors, and other general woodworking projects. First the good stuff. One of the very best features of this saw is the rack and pinion rip fence. Fantastically precise and consistent. I can easily rip to within 1/16 inch or less and repeat it again and again. For a 15AMP saw it has lots of power. I have ripped hickory wood flooring, partial sheets of 1/2" hardwood plywood and 3/4" fir plywood, 2x4 and other lumber. I even dadoed out some hickory by taking small rips with the regular carbide blade as I do not have a dado set. No problem.Yes
J. RipplingerI purchased this table saw as our home was being built so I could build all of the shelving myself. I purchased and used 50 sheets of 4' x 8' 5/8" particle board for the shelving (then I routed and sanded the edge to make the edge nice and rounded). This table saw is very solidly built, and was key in cutting and ripping hundreds of linear feet of shelving. I love the rack and pinion system for adjusting the fence - it is very accurate and prevents the fence from getting cocked (which my Ryobi table saw would often do). This is a good quality table saw, and is easy for me to setup (takes about 30 seconds) and take down so it doesn't take up much of my garage space when it is not in use. I would definitely recommend this table saw.Yes
Robert B. CushmanThe saw and rolling stand arrived today, a couple days early. The hard part (for this old man, slmost 76) was getting the package into the back of the SUV . . . very heavy (for me). . . but took it out in sections. Then, assembled the rolling stand . . . well designed, solid . . . (wheels/axles designed for two large washers, each, missing in bag and missing in instructions . . . no big deal, grabbed a few of my own). Placing saw on stand was rather easy and intuitive. Fired it up . . . a little noisy for first few seconds, but settled down. Test cuts dead accurate without tweaking . . . easy to set the fence and all settings straight forward . . . ON/OFF switch intuitive, Safe. Earlier model was borrowed, gave excellent service . . . new one has slight improvements. The borrowed saw had earlier cheap stand (Don't get it, it's too flimsy). This stand is solid, well designed, and easy for this old man to set up, roll around, and fold up for storage. For starters, I need this saw to slice up about 2,000 feet of Cedar siding, for trim, and to be very portable. With a commercial Austrian built, Knapp, in the basement, this is about as opposite as you can get, but this will perform equally well for its intended use.Yes

rs-firstWell designed to travel, secure storage for removable be honest I liked the layout and converted to a permanent table saw with addition of stand and wheels......worked out nicely.....Yes
Grizz1.I bought this for my daughter who needed it for working on her 1st home. She said it was great for her and her husband. This was the best I could find without crossing the thousand mark.people complain about the fence measuring short or long. Even on my shop saw there is variance. So I always measure out and chalk anyway. I felt it was a safe saw for her home projects like wood flooring or frame work.Yes
Tom L.I purchased this folding table saw a while ago to replace an old, Ryobi BT3000 precision table saw that I'd bought over 20 years ago. While love the ability to fine tune the BT3000, my need for that precision has faded and I didn't like the space that it took when it wasn't being used. To that end, a portable, folding table saw met my new, evolving requirements perfectly and this fits the bill. I've been happy with it since the purchase.Yes

TRZI'm going to start by saying Skill was not messing around when they built this table saw. This is compact enough to store in the garage for the diy kinda guy, and tough enough to rip though anything you can throw at it on the job site. I added a video below for anyone that wants to see this saw in action, but here is what I really like about this saw.Yes
Bob G.Maybe it depends on what you're coming from as to how you rate this saw, so for perspective, I'm coming from a ten or fifteen year old, direct drive, plastic bodied bench saw that I paid maybe $125 for. The old saw would almost jump off the bench at turn-on and would develop a very bad vibration while it was on, whether I was pushing wood through it or not. This vibration came and went, but it occurred with any blade I tried. It was difficult to hold my work on the table and against the rip fence.Yes
JacobThis Table Saw is by far the best portable table saw you can get for the money!!! I am extremely happy with my decision on going with this. I also purchased the stand which is sturdy as a rock and is quick and easy to set up or take down. The saw it self has massive ripping power and mine came dead on accurate out of the box with Prime shipping and FedEx as the carrier. The Skilsaw worm drive mag 77 is the best circular saw on the market, I have used them every day for years since 1998 they have always held up and can take a good beating. I am a carpenter by trade and I would highly recommend getting this table saw if your due for a new one or your first one. Attached is a picture to adjust the slide rail tension if you end up being one of the unlucky people that experience the blade drop issue. Make adjustments in 1/8-1/4 turns. Hope this helpsYes

Nick SawyerSo far, I’m impressed. Full time furniture maker and I use this every day. My shop is limited on space so I wanted something with the power of a cabinet saw in a compact form. This thing feels like it’s getting ready for launch when you turn it on and slices through 8/4 cherry and maple like butter. One important safety feature I was looking for was a riving knife and the one here works wonderfully.Yes
L A WhiteOne thing I HAVE worried about is how hard it turns on-I DO wish it had the soft-start. And I wish front and side extensions were available for this 1031 like the 4100. I've had to replace the switch and brushes only once. I also use good quality blades-mostly thin kerf. The "furniture" I've made through the years have been in art shows, galleries and consignment stores and many folks contact me after they've seen my work.Yes
James R GreenwoodI choose the Bosch purely on the design. Now that I have it in my shop, it has proven itself very worthy. I purchased a "package" that included to stand and dust bag. First the stand. Quick easy assembly and has a very sturdy feel to it. The saw came out of the box with ease despite the packaging constraints required for safe shipping. I must admit that I had to look around the saw for a bit to find the tool locations, but after having several Ah Ha experiences (thank you Professor Schear) it became so very clear. Everything has a place and a place for everything. Attaching the saw to the stand was easy easy. Clip here, snap lock there. The portability of the saw is not that important to me but the compact size is very important. My shop area is confined like most home users shops. I did run out first thing to get a better blade, but, would have done that with which ever saw I selected.Yes

RelidnitI read the 1-3 star reviews and as usual, they are a mix of silly and stupid. 10 thumbs dudes whining about how expensive this stand is for their router table or it doesn't fit their Dewalt portable saw perfectly, it was missing a few pieces or it has a large foot print. Blah, blah blah.Yes
James A.Purchased the previous model (TS-2000) as a test several years ago. These stands are better than advertised. Provided you have the proper tools (you will need several metric sized hand wrenches), assembly will take 20-30 minutes. Directions for assembly could be better, but are adequate. Once assembled, this model is 1-2 inches lower than the previous model. I used this stand to mount a 10" Makita Table Saw with success, and the lower stand height doesn't affect my ability to properly or safely use my saw installation.Yes
phil morseQuality stand at a reasonable price. I might be better if the assembly instructions were clearer and it weighed a little less... minor details. Combined with the GTS1031 you have 117 lbs...not too bad to haul up a flight of stairs. It's amazing what wheels do. Without the stand, carrying the saw is a workout. The combined weight does make it stable enough to cut sheet goods and it's tall enough folded to tip into the back of your truck. In an earlier version of this I said it would not go through a 32" doorway and that was wrong. Total width is 28", which is good enough for me.Yes

Best Portable Table Saw Buying Guide

You can finish woodworking projects quickly with the appropriate equipment. What makes the best portable table saw a great pick? First, a portable table saw makes moving it a breeze. Heavy-duty steel with ergonomic design allows moving the table saw on any surface. Second, the ripping capacity is essential if you perform a lot of ripping. Sometimes, you’ll need higher rip capacity to cut through thick and hardwood. Third, versatile functionality comes in handy when you need to trim edges or cut 45-degree angle. So, make sure the portable table saw has this feature for smaller projects. Fourth, the table is spacious enough for your woodworking projects. Indeed, you have your workbench, but wide tablespace is convenient, especially if you’re working on big projects. Lastly, select the best portable table saw with enough horsepower. A saw with 4Hp would be excellent for general purpose woodworking.
