Granimals70TopOK, my headline might be a bit misleading--this isn't a lumber jack's saw, I know. But I love my Oregon CS300 6.0 Ah cordless chainsaw. I am an older woman approaching 73 years old and my home is surrounded by almost six acres around which I ignorantly planted dozens of white pine seedlings nearly fifty years ago and also installed chain link fencing for privacy and to allow my dogs to run and exercise safely.Yes
mjvLove this saw! Quiet yet powerful. No dealing with a gas engine. Cuts easily and smoothly. Plenty of saw for your average homeowner. The charge lasts as long as I am safe to cut. After that I need a break.Yes
Ernest C. Moore, IIIA very well-made product. So easy to pull out and in minutes, cut a load of over-length firewood down to size to fit in my stove. On and off, and then done, with no neighbors complaining of noise! The chain bites with ease. My friends tease me relentlessly for going off of gas, but this saw makes you an irrevocable believer in battery power! It just works!Yes

Fred BauerDay one: Cut down about 50 Tanoaks on a steep slop (creating a fire break). Trees averaged 8 inches in diameter (several 14 inches dia.). The only thing that stopped me then was it started to rain. This thing is amazing. Well balanced, even with the 4 amp battery. All controls fall in the right place. The chain tensioner design is great (if it holds up-seems a bit light weight). Love the oiler window. Batteries charge fast. Love no idling, almost no noise while cutting (your neighbors will like that too). Plenty of power, fast cutting. Of course it's a brand new chain and bar. Remember-you MUST keep the chain sharp. No down pressure is needed and shouldn't be used. If yours is stalling, it's your fault, not the saw. Green wood cuts much easier than dried, buck up your rounds same day.Yes
Dave MacFadyenAfter reading the reviews of this saw on Amazon, I ordered this saw; my Greenworks 80V chainsaw arrived at 4:45 PM today. It came very well packed in a huge box, with the actual box packed inside, protected by a ton of paper packing. I had already read the 39-page manual online, so I took the battery and charger out, and plugged it in to charge it; apparently, it was already partially charged (green light blinking) as it achieved a full charge in 15 minutes (solid green light).Yes
Phil and Tobi TuttobeneI have had this unit for a month and this morning I put it through its work out. Overnight a 30 ft 24" tree fell. So I thought this is the test. I cut up this tree in 2 ft sections in less than 1/2 the time it takes using a gas saw. I have to shut the saw off while I move branches and with a gas saw it was always a struggle starting a cold or a hot gas saw. And I had good commercial Stihls, not crap, $400.00 chainsaws that I literally threw the in the garbage.Yes

Murphy SheaGreat! Yes, it is corded, and that does cut down a little on how freely you can swing it around, but - once you have replaced the stock chain with a really good one (the chain that comes with it is, presumably for the safety of beginners, a step back from razor-sharp) this thing will tear through wood almost as well as a similarly sized gas-powered saw.Yes
John StrayThis Makita is an excellent quality saw. I have used Stihl gas saws for 25 years and since I am now in my 60's, I needed a lighter, more user friendly saw to handle my wooded lot. It was not quite as powerful as my Stihl MS 251, but it gave her a run for the money. It ate up the oak, hickory and dogwoods like crazy. It was light, comfortable, quiet, easy to clean and I didn't have to wear hearing protection or stop to gas it. You do have to keep an eye on the bar oil through the oil level sight, but that was cake! I used the US Wire 12/3 100 foot wire that was recommended and had no power issues at all. I am very satisfied with my Makita 16" electric chain saw and highly recommend it.Yes
IcemanPleasantly surprised with this saw's power. I've had a Stihl for 17 years that parts are no longer available for to maintain (MS191T), so this is it's replacement. but they are two vastly different saws. The headaches of mixing fuel and Stihl's temperamental starting are refreshing not to have to deal with. This Makita is fairly compact (lower profile) and it's built very well. It's early-on, but I'm super satisfied with the Makita's performance. Initial work was cross-cutting 10x10" oak beams (air-dried, not green) with no issues. You may search for my YT video online: "Makita (Electric) Chainsaw UC4051A 10"x10" Red Oak Beam"... Green live oak pruning up to 8" was a breeze, and it could've handled more. COMPLAINTS: None, really, but the chain oil reservoir is low capacity, but the saw doesn't sling oil all over the place like my old Stihl, so maybe the delivery system is more efficient. This electric saw is a substantial alternative to a fuel saw, for heavy home-use or medium field work, so long as you have a heavy power cord (12/3 @ 100') and dedicated 15A power source.Yes

SueJeanBlack & Decker is a name in tools that I know and trust for making quality products. I was happy to see that they make this battery powered chainsaw. We have a gas chainsaw but like many others have noted, starting it takes more energy than using it. I really needed something easier and faster to use. We're mainly cutting Aspen and some pine for firewood.Yes
El sie NicohlsIn the above project I had available the two amp/hour Li-ion battery and half expected it to run out of juice since some of the wood was 8" thick. No problem. I finished the job with juice left in the battery. Put it on the charger and was surprised it was showing all green (not flashing as when charging) when I checked later.Yes
Stephanie A RammingI, a female, bought this for myself because my husband considers himself a “gentleman lumberjack,” and refuses to use any power tools for cutting down trees or trimming branches; I trim as many tree branches as he does, and got sick of having to use a handsaw and took matters into my own hands, but with power tools in hand! I had never used a chainsaw in my life, and this was easy to use; the first weekend I had it, I took down so many trees branches, it took two trailer loads to get them all hauled off to the composting center!Yes

Mando PickerA great saw, first time I've tried an electric, and I have 30 years of chainsaw experience. Key point here, as with any new product of any type, is letting it break in. Give the chain time to stretch, let the new parts work a little before you really go at it. After a few minutes of that, the chain rolled smoothly, with no noise, and cutting was a breeze. Self oiler worked well, and if you use the bar and chain oil, which pours like glue, you don't have to worry about leaks, as opposed to using just SAE 30 weight motor oil, which will leak.Yes
TumbleweedFive stars for Earthwise's customer service since they sent me a new chainsaw, BUT . . . three stars for the saw. Here's why: Put oil in, no oil comes out. Ever. Not while it's sitting around and not while it's running. This would save on oil, but ruin the saw. Both saws have exactly the same problem, which appears to be a completely different problem than that observed by others, namely, oil leakage. So my two saws (for the price of one) are very clean, but if I don't oil the chain myself, they would self-destruct. My solution is to oil the chain and bar using an oilcan, which isn't at all convenient, but it works, and the saw works very well on that basis. Smooth, reasonably powerful, cuts wood great. But those two oil reservoirs---it's as if there's no outlet, no drip (or whatever) to the bar and chain. It's just a closed bottle that happens to be attached to the saw. So forget about "automatic" oiling. You are the oiler.Yes
J. Ronald AdairThis saw is awesome! I have it for a year now, and just replaced the chain for the first time and I have been cutting down some large trees and chopping them up. I have not had any problems whatsoever and if you have electric box and an extension cord this is a much better choice than fiddling with a gas saw. I have attached the latest tree project photos which was a 36" diameter elm tree that I spent a few hours on continuously - the saw never overheated or had a lack of power. The one wish would be an 18 or 20" chain model, but for most jobs the 16" is fine. Btw, I purchased a generic chain at Home Depot but went from a 57 link to a 56link (Power Care Y56 ) as this gives you still tension adjustment after chain stretch.
This review is unsolicited and I would buy again and will highly recommend!
Yes

Gar Rac01I received my Remington Pole Saw two days ago based on the larger number of five star reviews. I understand the frustration by those who gave the item a poor rating based on their reviews. I, on the other hand, used mine for the first time this morning. First chain saw I have ever owned so I took my time reading through the owners manual two or three times. To read this manual is imperative.Yes
SuhrBeware oil leak hazard!
The manual oiler on this chainsaw is bulb pressure fed AND.... GRAVITY fed.
This means.... that while the chainsaw is stored it leaks oil. (non stop)
I put a Pig Blanket under mine while stored. (problem solved)
Yes
MJRWeyI bought this in 2014, first off, it's only $100. So I expect 100 dollar performance. I'm a professional woodworker and own both professional stihl and husky saws. Probably not the typical buyer of this. Anyways when I bought it, I was on crutches from an injury and needed to trim branches over the area my camper is parked before a storm was forecast. This did the job no problem. In the five years since, I use it 3 or 4x a year pruning trees and more often than not thick brush, it allows me to stick the pole in there and avoid ticks, the bane of my existence. Then i use the tractor to dump it into the burn pile. But, it can do large limbs too, this 12" diameter limb with new chain only took a minute.Yes

Best Electric Chainsaw Buying Guide

Since electric chainsaws are a tad pricey, there is no room for you to buy impulsively. Doing so may lead to your disappointment.

Here are some things you might need to think about for you to be satisfied with your purchase.

Budget

Considering the price that you have to pay to have your own electric chainsaw, the budget is very important. The bigger is your budget, the more choices you have among the best electric chainsaws out there. Nevertheless, don’t push your budget too far, make a budget plan that you can accommodate!

Purpose

Different brands of electric chain saws carry different features. Try to prioritize the electric chainsaw that would cater to your needs more than others. Try to assess each chainsaw’s functionality and advantages.

Availability of Port Outlets

This is very important! Keep in mind that some electric chainsaws are corded. You wouldn’t want to buy a corded chainsaw to go trimming branches in the middle of the forest.
